Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel/reschedule your massage appointment with less than 12 hours notice, the card on file will be charged 50%. If you do not show up, the card on file will be charged in full.

*We always truly appreciate you sending a friend or partner in your place if you are not able to come in! If you send someone in your place and the booking is not affected (outside the 12 hour cancellation time,) you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

When should I arrive?

Arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment start time to fill out your health intake form, have a quick chat about your massage and ensure the session begins on time.

What if I’m sick or have been around someone who is contagious?

If you are sick, please call the studio as soon as possible before your appointment to discuss options to keep everyone safe and healthy. If we do not answer, leave a voicemail or text so we definitely get the message. Although we understand illness is not on our timeline, it is always helpful to have as much notice as possible before rescheduling.

How do I get to the studio and what is parking like?

Charlottesville Location: 941 Glenwood Station Lane, Suite 302

There is parking in front of the building (with ample handicapped parking as well.) When you enter the building, take the elevator to the third floor. When you exit the elevator, the suite is on your left. Please note, there are a few buildings next to each other that look very similar. Ensure you are coming into building 941 for your appointment. Enter through the main door located directly in front of the parking spots (not the door that is on the Rio Rd side.)

Is the studio wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Both studios are wheelchair accessible. In Charlottesville, there is handicapped parking directly in front of the building. A ramp leads to the door, and there is an elevator that takes you to the 3rd floor. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom on the ground floor. In Lynchburg, there is an elevator that takes you to the 2nd floor. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom down the shorter hallway behind the waiting area. Please let us know if you require special assistance upon arrival to the building.

Am I able to add cupping to any massage?

Most of our therapists offer basic cupping upon request (during therapeutic and Thai massages.) At this time there is no extra cost to add some basic cupping to your session, so just be sure to chat with your therapist about it beforehand so you two can discuss possible contraindications and where specifically you would like cupping.

If you desire a more thorough cupping session, consider booking a neuromuscular cupping massage with Gretchen, David, or Susan.

What should I wear for a Thai massage?

If you do not want to change into the clothing that we provide at the studio, wear comfortable workout gear such as loose/stretchy leggings or knee-length shorts, t-shirt or tank top. (Loose comfy cotton pants are preferred.)

Do I have to be flexible to get a Thai massage?

Thai massage is for everyone, flexible or not! If anything, receiving regular Thai massage can increase your flexibility. When a certain stretch is too much, the therapist adjusts, often using cushions for support. Some clients benefit from many stretches, and others benefit from more compressions.

Is facial gua sha the same as getting “a facial”?

Nope! Our service “Facial Gua Sha” is gua sha that is done on your face, neck, scalp, and upper chest. It is not a facial that you would get from an esthetician (ie deep cleansing, exfoliation, mask, extractions, etc.)

What is your gift card policy?

Gift card sales are final. We do not offer refunds for gift cards, and they are not cash transferrable. If you need to transfer a gift card to someone else, please contact us.
